Feb 01, 2016 Written by: MasterC ASUS Republic of Gamers Announces Swift PG348Q Curved Monitor Articles: Monitors Article Tags: First it was a concept at Computex in June last year, now the gaming display of your dreams has come true. In case you haven't heard, the new ROG Swift PG348Q is the new flagship gaming display. For those of you in search of the ultimate gaming display, you'd be hard-pressed to find one better. Before looking the specs, let's not overlook the award-winning design with the Armor Titanium and Plasma Copper color scheme and ROG logo light projection. The gaming performance is equally matched with the bold design. PG348Q is exceptional in all the essential factors for what makes a great gaming display; a large display, high resolution, vibrant colors and color accuracy, high refresh rate, fast response time and exclusive gaming technologies (such as ASUS GamePlus & GameVisual, and NVIDIA G-SYNC). Besides all of these, you also get an ultra-wide curved screen which has you more immersed because it curves around you for a panoramic view. The ultra-wide 21:9 aspect ratio will make use of your peripheral vision while gaming as you will see more content horizontally which you normally won't see, and every inch of your display will be utilized when watching a movie in 2.40:1 (the majority of existing movies are already available in 2.35:1 or greater). Using a 34-inch display with the ubiquitous 16:9 aspect ratio for example will not be as wide in size and will result in black bars on the top and bottom. A 34-inch display so close to your face is simply massive, initially it would take a little time to get used to it if you're upgrading from a smaller display, after spending some time with it - you simply can't go back. The maximum resolution is 3440X1440 (QHD) which is actually a WQHD (2560 X 1440) display super-stretched horizontally. Vibrant and accurate colors provided by the IPS panel has a 100% sRGB color gamut, a 1,000:1 contrast ratio, and 10bit-color for 1.07 billion distinct hues. Gaming will be incredibly smooth with the refresh rate at 100Hz with NVIDIA G-SYNC technology to eliminate tearing, minimize stuttering, and reduce input lag. The response time for the IPS panel is very fast at 5ms. Included are ASUS exclusive technologies such as GamePlus to give gamers an advantage with onscreen overlays, GameVisual for color enhancements for different game genres, a 5-Way OSD navigation joystick, and a Turbo Key to instantly change the refresh rate on-the-fly. Eye-strain and watery eyes can become problematic for gamers in as quickly as half an hour, TÜV Rheinland-certified Low Blue Light and Flicker-Free technologies may be able to change all that. The most enticing benefit may be that you can study longer without dozing off. Hit the PR button below for more details!
