Laser Engraving The Case Window
“I have been walking around for a while with this idea. I want the plexi window to be flush with the black brushed aluminum, but with only handwork I can’t see it succeeding. Even a 0.5mm difference will be visible. So I decided to let the plexi be lasered and then try to get the window in by hand (Thanks Brian!). I will also take the opportunity to get some small logo’s lasered on too; no names, just logo’s.”
Milling The Waterblock
The 10.6KG copper block was cut to 6.4KG after the first milling, and then after the backside milling it was reduced further to ‘only’ 1.8KG!
Nickel Plating
“Very glad I decided to nickelplate it. I have to say, all the tiny scratches that were already there are even more visible now in the right light. However I’m really satisfied!”
