Article Tags: Product News

There's a new dual-GPU AMD card on the block, as the R9 295X2 has just launched - so hit your favorite tech site for reviews - with availability to buy later this month. Featuring two 'Hawaii' GPUs strapped to a single PCB, this monster card is liquid cooled with an all-in-one cooler. The central fan is there to cool the VRMs, while the GPUs are cooled with waterblocks. Seems like the ARES II has started a trend!

Eyefinity fans will be happy to know the card directly supports up to 6 displays (5 directly) over the DVI and mDP outputs.

ASUS Announces R9 295X2 Graphics Card

Dual GPU card with highly-efficient hybrid liquid and air-cooling design and real-time tuning with exclusive ASUS GPU Tweak for maximum gaming performance

Taiwan, Taipei (8th April, 2014) — ASUS today announced R9 295X2, a brand-new high-performance graphics card powered by dual AMD Radeon™ R9 series graphics-processing units (GPUs) and equipped with a highly-efficient, hybrid liquid / air cooling system.

Fitted with 8GB of super-fast GDDR5 video memory, R9 295X2 exclusively benefits from GPU Tweak — the real-time tuning tool that’s available only to ASUS customers.

Exclusive real-time tuning for maximum performance and live sharing

R9 295X2 delivers fantastically high performance straight from the box but only ASUS customers are able to push the dual GPUs to the very limits with GPU Tweak, our exclusive real-time tweaking utility. This easy-to-use tool grants intuitive and instant control over both R9 GPUs, video-memory clock speeds, voltage levels, cooling-fan speeds and power targets, so ASUS customers are able to overclock R9 295X2 easily and with high confidence.

As well, the GPU Tweak Streaming tool lets users share on-screen action over the internet in real time — so others can watch live as games are played. It’s even possible to add a title to the streaming window along with scrolling text, pictures and webcam images.

Two GPUs, six displays, maximum gaming enjoyment

The new ASUS R9 295X2 graphics card is fitted with dual R9 series GPUs running at 1018MHz, ensuring that gameplay is fast, smooth and free from stutter — even when running at the latest 4K/UHD (ultra-high-definition) resolutions of up to 3840 x 2160 pixels1.

Gamers can also connect up to six displays2, enabling players to spread their battlefields across a vast expanse of screen real estate to create experiences that are truly immersive.

1The highest resolution for DVI output is 2560 x 1600. The highest resolution for DisplayPort and HDMI is 3840 x 2160.

2Mini DisplayPort Multi-Stream Transport (MST) hub required to connect additional displays

Instant liquid cooling — no assembly required!

ASUS R9 295X2 is engineered with a hybrid liquid / air-cooling system. The tidy and highly-efficient design requires no assembly and works from the moment the two-slot card is inserted, so no setup is required.

The active fan, with underlying radiator to dissipate heat from the liquid-cooling pipework, fits standard 120mm mounts, so installation couldn’t be simpler. This clever hybrid liquid and air-cooling system provides exceptionally efficient cooling for both GPUs and the card’s memory chips and regulators. Dedicated liquid cooling for the dual R9 series GPUs is supported by a high-efficiency fan that dissipates heat from other critical components, reducing overall operating temperatures and increasing stability  —  ensuring that R9 295X2 stays chilled, even when the on-screen action heats up.

ASUS ROG R9 295X2 will be available worldwide from 21st April 2014. Please contact your local ASUS representative for further information.
