Blog 1:2 - Installing the GTX285

OMG It's me again already. I'm not entirely sure if our first week's blogs are both meant to be about the GTX, this hasn't been made that clear to us. But whatever, suck it up.

This time I will tell you actually using the card. First off I had to remove my previous graphics subsytem out (2 x 8800 GTX). Once those were out, the Matrix fitted perfectly - the PCI bracket was aligned perfectly, and didn't interfere with any other components.

As you may or may not know, the Matrix has a REALLY COOL LED name badge that changes colour depending on how much load the card is under. Lowest is green, this is Safe Mode. However, I find it will usually sit in Light Loading mode, blue. More load the card is under, it shifts towards Red, turning an AWESOME purple colour beforehand.

However, the orientation of the logo is fixed; this is a minor issue for people like myself who run with the motherboard inverted, causing the card to be upside down and therefore the logo too :(

Apoligies for the blurred pics - my camera (Nikon L4) always blurs images when the flash isn't on. Any of you camera boffins out there who can help can PM on the bit-tech.net forums (Omnituens)

As you can see, I clearly need more fans.

Close up of the Shiny Logo. Oooooo.

As you can see... I'm missing a PCI cover. Bite me. If you look closer, You can see a GTX285 purring away there, rendering this blog. Clearly a Blue Logo situation.

Next blog... lets see what the card can do!
