Blog 1:1 - The GTX285

OK, Now that I have actually got the ability to post, here are my thoughts on the hardware I won from the Asus XREME!!1111 Summit. I will go through how I won this prize in a later blog I suspect.

First of, My name is Dan, online I am known as Omnituens. Big TF2 player, also dabble in a few MMO's such as Spreadsheet Eve Online. Mainly PC gamer, though I do love retro gaming on the consoles.

Now, on to the hardware. First off, the box.

As you can see it's the size of a sentry gun. You can tell from this that this card is a serious piece of kit.

Inside the box you get the card (obviously), usual assortment of wires, cables and accessories. You also get a CD containing the overclocking software for the card, however due to a motherboard issue I'm having (which I'm sorry to say is an Asus) I can't overstress the system in any way or it might kerplode or something. So no OC'ing until I build my new rig (unfortunatly I'll be switching to a non-Asus board, though I was tempted by the Asus X58 boards, because they have a decent colour scheme).

Ok, Thats it for this blog. Next blog will be up shortly about the installation and use of the card!
