Struggling with audio over HDMI

Audio over HDMI is not working for me:
I hooked up the HDMI output to my Samsung LCD TV and the picture came out fine but the audio was still playing out of the laptop speakers. I cannot get it to play the audio out of the TV speakers. I went to the "NVIDIA Control Panel" and made sure the output was set to "HDMI (Audio Enabled)" but it still did not work. I have ran all the latest windows updates and my drivers appear to be up to date. How can I get this working?

in the audio manager there should be an option to choose which speakers should be enabled and default. you will have to set it to the HDMI source
