I have a new build with: (1) ASUS M4A88TD-M/USB3 motherboard (Sata3), (2) Western Digital Black 1TB Sata3 6GB 64k cache and (3) Windows 7 64-bit. The drive appears to be enabled for Sata3 on the motherboard bios.
The performance is blah (5.9 on Windows Experience and my 2 yo laptop gets a 5.6). CrystalDiskMark shows 102.4 read and 101.5 write sequential. I assume this setup should be much better (like 2+x that).
What could be wrong? Bios setup? Drive connection? Drivers?
