I just recently built a new rig, my first WC rig actually and i've loved it and the experience of putting it all together...but as soon as i started it up i started to notice that my Das Keyboard doesnt seem to be working right.
When i plug in the keyboard it initially turns on, but then loses power and doesnt really work. Anything else in the same USB ports on the motherboard will work fine, and the only things i have plugged in are my Mouse and a wireless adaptor so i dont think im overloading it...

My keyboard worked fine on my old computer, but for some reason this one, even though it's a nicer motherboard, is having a ton of issues. And i know for sure im not plugging the USB cable into the USB3.0 port.

My build is as follows:
i7 970 from IREP
ASUS Rampage III Formula
EVGA GTX580 FTW Hydro Copper 2
6g Gskill 1600 memory
Antec Trupower 750watt (same PSU i used on my older system and i never had issues then, but i used to be running a 5870 and a i7 860.

What does "doesnt seem to be working right" mean? Are you able to get into the BIOS? I'm not sure how you can determine that it has lost power since it doesn't have any power indicator that I know of, only num, caps, and scroll lock indicators, right?

As in, the keyboard doesn't function or type anything. It's entirely unresponsive. But when i plug any other things into the same USB slots it works fine.
The computer itself works fine and is great, its just the keyboard that seems to be having problems getting enough power to actually function.

Oh, OK. It's just that when you said doesn't really work it made it sound like maybe some things were working but not everything. Perhaps the motherboard is recognizing it as the wrong kind of device or something. Do you have the same problem in Windows if you use a different keyboard to get there and then plug it in?

Sorry for the confusion, any other Keyboard i've used seems to work fine in any USB slot in the computer. It's just the Das Keyboard that seems to be having the problem. I'm wondering if it might be because it has 2 USB plugs for it's internal USB hub that might be drawing too much power?

I sent in my keyboard and they're sending me a new one..but i guess i might end up having to use it with PS/2 or actually have to buy a external powered USB hub.

It's strange that it happens with this computer though and not my other one, my other computer was using a P7P55D EVO board and i never had any issues =/

Try to unable USB legacy function in the bios if it actually isn't already. If it is, then keep us up to date and we will see what we can do more.
