G75VW-TS71 - is my laptop 3D ??

Hello everyone,

I bought this laptop from tigerdirect http://www.tigerdirect.ca/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=2355975

the advertisement says its 3D all over the page, yet in the laptop there nothing that says its 3D or how to use it!

I was wondering if anyone could verify that this model has a 3D monitor?

The reason why I ask is because;

1, The monitor driver says its generic pnp monitor which is locked at 60hz. I thought 3D monitors go up to 120hz

2, There is no options in the graphic card settings for 3D (stereoscopic etc..)

3, I was told by tigerdirect I can use any 3D glasses on the market, I bought a pair of cheap active shutter (to test, didn't want to spend on the Nvidia 2 just yet) and I don't see any 3D effects when watching verified 3D content.

4, In the nvidia folder, there are files for 3D but when I open them it tells me I do not have a 3D capable monitor, or if I click the enable 3D exe nothing happens.


Am I missing something? Is it really 3D? How do I use it?

looks like your laptop is not 3d,, because if it is 3d, asus will provide you with a free 3d active shutter glasses by nvidia

on top of that: you laptop is not fullhd also, it is only 1600x900..and who says it is written all over tigerdirect that it is 3d? :)

thanks for your reply, I am going to contact tigerdirect about this. I may have gotten duped, so much for "immersive 3D experience" like it says right on in the tigerdirect page.

no bro,it is not tigerdirect fault, they just copied from the official rog websitehttp://rog.asus.com/notebook/17-inch/g75vw/ ..you should have check the specs of the display below the tigerdirect page..g75vw has many variants..even the non 3d g55 at tiger direct and other sellers they say 3d because they copy from the rog website.

I did just that and they just responded to me!

lol so now what? its suppose to be 3D and its not.... is the monitor missing drivers? or is it truly not 3D??

I have a 3D model, so try ome of these things.
Press the button next to the power on. in mine it controls the 3dD on and off and NOT the Power settings.
If i start a game which is 3D is Skyrim and Sniper elite 2 a light lights upin the pannel were the camera is.
I have not compared mine to non 3D but i also have a 3D symbol near the camera.
