ASUS HD 7870 DirectCU II - a thirsty fellar?

I am looking to buy a 7870 video card, and have been eyeballing the ASUS Radeon HD 7870 2GB DirectCU II. One of the main attractions of the 7800-series is its low power consumption. However, according to this review (http://www.techpowerup.com/reviews/ASUS/HD_7870_Direct_Cu_II/24.html), the ASUS HD 7870 DirectCU II is one thirsty fellar. Its maximum power consumption is 91 W higher than the reference card. I think that is alot, even though the ASUS board is slightly OC:ed.

Can anyone confirm or refute the claimed high power consumption of the ASUS HD 7870 DirectCU II?
