I won the contest now I want some opinions. I am looking for the best Power supply I can get for the new mobo and GPU I won. I have a Corsair HX850 in my main sandy bridge setup and don't really have any complaints. But I want to know if there is anything better out there? Also any ideas on memory. I like the ripjaws x from GSkill. But if anyone knows better I would love your input. I would like to make this rig run more than 4.8Ghz like my current rig. Maybe 5.1GHZ or 5.2Ghz. Let the opinions fly!

Power Supply and RAM shouldn't be a problem. Sandybridge is all about multiplier. On the other hand I would go for water cooling with a full 580 block :D

Memory I would go with corsair vengeance it is specified for sandy at 1.5v which will mean better stabibility. And congrats!!!:)

Thanks Junkie! I was looking at the Vengance looks nice. What do you run in your i7-2600? This is what I was thinking about purchasing again http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820231435 Thoughts?
Rayden why do you say psu does not matter. I would think the ripple and the voltage drops would be extremely important when trying over 5.0Ghz? Please explain?

Or these Junkie would just need two sets though. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820231434

Has anyone seen reviews on what is the best CPU cooler for the i7-2600k? Air or contained liquid doesn't matter.

Simply put you need 750 watt PSU for that system. (minimum 600 watt) So you do not have a problem Watt wise.
Voltage drops and such has nothing to do with the PSU's wattage. It is all about its quality and yours is one with fine quality. Save the money for water cooling IMO.

Ok I see what your saying. I was just just wondering if there is a better 850. Yes I know I would be ok with a 650 or so but I like the headroom. Plus planning on adding another ENGTX580. I guess I should have been more specific. Like this " Does anyone know of a 850W PSU that has better quality, DC regulation, ripple control, capacitors primary and secondary than Corsair HX850?" There thats better. Thanks for your wisdom again Rayden and Junkie!

The ax850 is gold certified and is fully modular. I think the hx850 is silver. I just got the ax750 and love it. Also, that gpu should run pretty cool with that massive cooler on it so you should be fine with that on air.
Not one of the big boys but just my 2 cents ;)

Thanks Lifeskills and ur up there on the board. I would call you one of our big guys! I do not care about the Gold or Silver ratings that is not a factor I consider when purchasing. Just quality, longevity, and OC' ability. Ohh forgot the important part. "Can it play Crysis 2?

Well the corsair hx850 is definitely a nice psu ( i have one too ) that you could save a few bucks vs the corsair ax850. Another recomendation would be the seasonic x850 ( The AX850 by corsair is actually a rebranded seasonic x850 ).
And as far as longevity goes i believe that seasonic has a 5 year warranty and corsair has a 7.
out of those three, the only real reason to not get the HX850 would be to get the gold certification. Also If you plan on sleeving it ( maybe not gonna happen, dont know ) you will void the warranty on the HX by sleeving the attached cables.

Noctua NH-D14 comes to mind or if you're cheap like me, I use my trusty TRUE 120 w/ dual fans. 4.4Ghz on my 2600K, folding, no more than 55 degrees temp with a 100% CPU load.

Hey if you want the best cooling system, I can't say enough good things about the Antec 920 Liquid cooler. it keeps my 980X at 4.5 under load at less than 65 C.
For memory think Corsair or Kingston, they are really the only way to go.

The Antec looks just like a H70 Corsair which I have.

They are close to the same thing as they are both made by Asetek but the Antec is better do control software and temperature monitoring not offered by the H70.

I went with the DH-14. I have all the parts now just waiting for the contest winnings to finish it up. Can't wait!

hx850 is an awesome power supply, we have several and have had no problems with it. you should be able to hit 4.8ghz easily if you have an average batch of 2600k. 5.0ghz if you have an above average chip, and 5+ if you have a good chip.
personally i like the self contained water kits from antec or corsair, but if you have the money, you can go for a real water setup. you'll still be able to hit those numbers with the self contained coolers.

Those are an easy hit with Antec 620 or 920
I have a Antec 620 with push pull mod running my 2600 K at 4.5 stay under 70 C even under full folding load.

Its not the money part about the full loop. I leave my comps running 24/7 and sometime I am away for a week at a time. To scared to come back to a wet pile of junk where my computer used to be. Just my H70 makes me nervous.
