Upgrading/replacing my Geforce GTX 260M on a G51J-A1

Hi there,

I need a little help. I really want to replace my current Geforce GTX 260M on my G51J (as I really can't play the Witcher 2 on it).

Can this be done?

From what I've read the card can be replaced as it uses a MXM 3.0 slot (i think), however I've also heard there may still be issues elsewhere with regards to heating problems and heat syncs etc...

Can somebody please tell me if this can be done, and if so which current graphics cards I can actually replace my GTX 260M with (I'm currently eyeing the Geforce GTX 485M SLI and the AMD Radeon HD 6970M Crossfire).

My understanding is that even though the interface is the same that the PCB layouts are not compatible (as you mentioned). If I was you I would only try it if I could find someone who has done the exact same replacement successfully.
