Hello to everyone on the forum.

I am having a peculiar problem on the Motherboard MVGene displaying

"New CPU installed enter setup for configuration"
Chassis intrude- please check your system
Fatal error....System halted"

This occurs every time I do a cold boot of the system. Additionally, the system time is frozen to the last known shutdown time.

CMOS battery is at 3V (New replacement battery). If I put a slightly older battery from another board(2.65V), these errors vanish, but CMOS settings are also lost and time reset

Config - (Built on 11/December/12)

i7 3770k
Corsair Vengeance 2x8GB 1600MHz
Intel 320 series SSD
Corsair H70 Cooler

Please update the BIOS to the latest version then clear the CMOS. Once that is done try only using one DRAM module in the DIMM slot furthest away from the CPU. Does the problem still occur?

Just did that. Same error on boot.

BIOS is updated to latest 1408 version.

None of my BIOS settings are ever erased in the course of these errors.

It seems you have a faulty motherboard, please return it to the retailer that you purchased it from for a replacement.

I will do so at the earliest

I bought it from a retail shop. Is the shop liable to replace the board with a brand new one or will I have to go for ASUS RMA?

If you just bought it they should do a swap straight away.

Update:

I went to the retailer and he redirected me to RMA dept, where it was immediately taken for testing & it threw up errors even after replacing BIOS chip. So, they gave me another box packed MVGene.

Overall, happy with the service of ASUS RMA

Thanks for helping me out Thomas@ASUS
