GTX580 Matrix fan speed always 100%

No matter what I do in the settings for 2d or 3d the fan speed is always 100%

Also the manual is from 2009.

Is there anyway I can control the fan speed? I have tried auto manual and user-defined settings. The card never gets above 30c in idle or 50c under load. But sometimes I want it quieter.

did you try to press the 100% fan speed button on your videocard ?

Ok now I am embarrassed. Must have hit it by accident when I installed the card.
