Hahahahaa. Do we really NEED any of it?? Or just want it all? lol.
Yes, I'm with you on the R3BlackE, if I went intel, that would be
the board (or a gene)..and then I wouldn't want the T strictly because
of price.
But,,,until Intel gets some Market/Pricing sense...I will stick with AMD.
(I can build and run 3 V/AMD x6 for 1 BlackE/Intel X--compare?/not even close)
With X-Fi and the Nic on the V... you are exactly right..its a want,
a V owner certainly doesn't need it. I want it.c.

I wouldn't say that Intel lacks sense in their marketing or pricing. They certainly have a good business department, and are definitely good at what they do. I personally prefer AMD, but that is a personal preference based on my own experience. At this time Intel still has the best CPU on the market, there is no argument. They also still maintain the largest market share, even though their "bang for the buck" is arguably less than AMD in most cases. Any company that can manage to hold the 1st place trophy with their product, sell their products at a price-point which is disproportionately higher than the performance gain, and still maintain a majority market share is doing everything right (from a business perspective). Ergo, even if you prefer AMD, you would be smart to buy stock in Intel, haha.
Anyways, back on topic: The Thunderbolt looks like a good card, but it definitely was designed to be a bundle item, and I would not expect to see it as a standalone product any time in the near future. That said, what I would like to see, and believe would be more likely, is an ROG branded Xonar card. I like integrating the Killer NIC, and would like to see that remain in such a card, but otherwise would expect a standalone version to be significantly "suped up" by comparison to the TB. Something like the Xonar Xense (which is great) sans PC-350's, with integrated Killer NIC, and a badass ROG branded full sized EM shield (glowing emblem anyone?). Just don't ditch the integrated powered HP amp! <- This I would buy in a heartbeat!
"Xonar Matrix" anyone?

The Intel NIC is already integrated on the ROG Motherboards, by integrating the Killer 2100 in the add-on card, it gives users the choice between the two based on their personal preference. That's how I feel about it anyway, and dual NIC is really not that big of a deal unless your talking about server applications. The redundancy is nice, but hardly worth worrying about in the vast majority of consumer applications IMO. I don't see a dual port NIC integrated with a good sound card, if you really want one, you'd be best to just grab the standalone card.

I have to say good points on intel,Cyrekk, they couldnt sell it at those prices if somebody wasnt buying them up. and there really is no argument about the numbers.
still for the bucks and the bang...amd for me.
as for the thunderbolt...intel nic...bells and whistles..
the intel nic works great on my V, no issues..
thanks.guys.c.
