Hi,

I am running my CHV on 0506 bios. I got ready to upgrade to 0813 so I shut down the system and powered it back on.

I got this message overclocking failed press f1 to continue. In this screen it shows that 8gb ram and all the disks and drives installed. The funny thing is I had rolled back to stock settings 24 hrs before and the system was running fine.

I go into the bios I see this message invalid input which has only one option which you can select i.e ok.

When I click on ok the bios hangs.

I restart same problem invalid input, I click ok, the bios hangs.

I then powered down switched off the PSU, I turned it back on and used the clear CMOS button and powered the machine on. Same problem. The bios hangs after I click on ok.

When the bios hangs I can see that all the frequencies are at stock.

I then tried the memok button, I got the screen which tells me that memok was successful press f1 to recover bios settings. I get into bios I see the same message invalid input, I click ok, the bios hangs.

I tried clearing CMOS using both the button and by removing the battery. I also tried memok feature many times, but no go.

What is happening?

What should I do?

Is my bios corrupted?

Has the bios crashed?

How do I get the bios up and running if i am unable to select the EZflash menu as the bios hangs as soon as I click on ok when I see the invalid input message?

Will this in any way corrupt my windows?

If the bios is fixed, will I be able to boot to windows without any problems?

Please help, I am unable to get into windows, it's got all my work stuff, and for some of it deadlines are approaching soon.

Thank you for reading.

Disconnect all HDD and SSD drives and all USB components (except your keyboard).
Clear the CMOS again, hold the button in for about 10 seconds.
Then try posting with only one stick of memory in the slot furthest away from the CPU.

If you can get it to post, I suggest upating to bios 0705 for now (you can always do 0803 later).

Thx, nemesis, I tried it, both my mem sticks are working. When I plug them in individually in different sockets, I still don't know what to do.

This is what exactly happens.

I get the single beep, then see the screen which says overclocking failed press f1 to reset bios, when I go to bios I see this message invalid input range with only option ok.

When I click on ok the bios hangs.

At this point I can't do anything but switch off the pc by holding the power button.

I power up the pc the same problem.

Pc posts I get the beep press f1 enter bios click ok the bios hangs.

I am not able to go to windows, I repeat the pc is posting but the bios hangs.

Can someone help me understand what is happening, also how do I flash the bios if it keeps hanging after I click on ok in invalid input range message.

Why is my bios hanging like this?

Due to this I am not able to select the right settings (boot sequence, fan control etc) in the bios so not able to go to windows.

How do I flash the bios if the current bios keeps hanging.

Yep nothing happens it goes to the overclocking failed screen press f1 to continue.

My pc was at stock I always rollback to stock settings before a bios update.

Hi, mudkip, how do I go about using ROG connect to get it to defaults? I have never used ROG connect.

What is this invalid input range message is.

Single memory module in the last slot, only keyboard connected (disconnect everything else), clear CMOS and power up the board. If you can use UEFI let me know, if not RMA the board.

Valid input range sounds like a USB input device malfunction of some sort. Would try another keyboard if you have one...

There is a little switch on the board that says ROG connect you install the software on another machine and plug in with the white usb cable. But raja knows whats up

No, O.C button is not enabled. I still haven't got the time to change the keyboard and see what happens.

Olryst seems to have a similar problem but with the 0813 ver. bios I am having this problem with the 0506 ver. bios

@Raja what is your suggestion? How do I go about this? Is my bios chip fried?

No, nothing is working still stuck with the same problem. Used a ps2 KB instead of the USB KB.

@Raja I have sent you a private message with the details. Please let me know what to do ASAP. Thanks.

What happens if when you hit f1 and the bios opens you F10 from right there?
