Hello all, :D
Have a question if I may....
I recently built my new computer with Rampage IV Extreme mobo updated to 901 bios. Only clocked to 3.9 at the moment.
CPU = i7 3960x
My cputin temperature is reading in the 60-65c range idling. All cpu core temps read in the upper 30's when idling. All other temps as well are reading fine. I'm just worried about the cputin. Doesn't matter which temp program I use, they all read the same thing.
Now, something to be worried about? I can always try re-applying my cpu cooler (using the new intel water cooler), re-apply tim etc.. or is it just a bug in the sensor readings?
Thanks much for any and all help :D

Use a programme like core temp to read the actual temps of the cores. Sounds like you have a bad sensor there. If core temp is reporting Idles of 65 then something is badly wrong check and recheck the cooler. I suspect its just a buggy sensor though.

Thank you 8 pack,
I installed coretemp, and it's reading on all 6 cores are in the mid to upper 30's on all 6 cores. Consistent with what the other programs are stating.
Hence, I'm leaning towards your opinion that the cputin is reading faulty. Hopefully ;)

It most defo is Coretemp takes readings from the diodes built into the CPU.

you're probably using HWMonitor or similar programs, the only program that actually reads the exact temperature of these CPUs is ai-suite2, try and let us know.

No AI suite reads the socket temps . Core temp reads the onboard diode temps within teh core of teh CPU its self. Cpre Temp is the most accurate.

Certainly, for the temperatures of individual cores, which are good both CoreTemp real temp, and of course are the ones to consider.
I was just saying to Riverpilot, which to me, as a general temperature of the cpu, all the programs like HWminitor give more than 60 °, the contract AI-SUITE, which marks that indicated in the bios.

Oh yeah for sure your not incorrect in that at all. From my pov I would just rarther know the exact core temps thats all. Ai Suite will let you know if your heatsink is mounted well etc.

Unfortunately I do not understand what you mean, me being Italian, I do not know English well, if you can repeat more easily, I'd be grateful.

AI Suite II reads CPU 28, motherboard 24 at idle. While coretemp reads all mid to upper 30's cpu at idle.
After running prime95 for 30 minutes they all read low to mid-60's... so I'm thinking it's just a faulty sensor as 8 pack suggested.
Thanks for all your help guys. :D

Thats exactly as I thought. Your fine with those temps.
