from the cheepest i3-2120 to the one i linked its about £15 apart.
do you recomend the HD4000 or the HD2500 series?
a friend at work asked me to put to gether a HTPC box for him ( price for now )
and hes gona use windows, and gona add a wifi card on it too, so i guess a m-atx board is more then enough for his use.
have to be quiet and lots of storage, ssd for OS and hdd for storage. and it have to be a smal case ( case that can fit on a shelf/tv bench ).
im thinking 8gig ram to be on the safe side ( one stick ) so he have some to go on.
should i go for soundcard or onboard? ( i dont have enny HTPC exept the main pc im using )

    im sorry for bugging you.
do you have enny experience on motherboards whit onboard graphic and cpu's?
    for example : Intel® Core i3-3225 Processor
    Socket-LGA1155, Dual Core, 3.3GHz, 3MB, 55W, HD4000, Boxed w/fan
im thinking streaming video, some internet browsing.
gona be used for HTPC, or do you recomend a screencard in stead?

"I hear you William. And have passed your concerns on the folks who work with the BIOS team.
May I make a suggestion that you find a BIOS version that does what it is meant to do and stay there. Chasing after the latest BIOS is not advised at all, most of the time the later BIOS updates are to fix specific issues that users have reported. And if your system works well, then these newer BIOS's could break something.

Me personally I find one that I like and stick there. The only time I will update my bios once I have that working BIOS is if a problem develops with new hardware that a BIOS fix may resolve."

I love it! I wish there were more like you. +1

Mr. HiWizMan, I would really appreciate it if you could help me OC my i7-3820 a little higher than the stock speed. I want it to bump up to 4.0/4.2GHz if possible. I am using Thermaltake Contact 30 as the cooler and I wonder what I can achieve with this. I don't want a crazy OC, just a moderate one but I don't know which way to go about it. Here are my specs:

Should I do ANY of the following for example? *Disable/enable/increase/decrease

    1. Disable SPEEDSTEM (EIST)
    2. C1E Support
    3. Decrease memory ratio (I have 4 sticks of 8x4 = 32GB of 1600MHz CL9 ram
    4. QPI ratio
    5. Load-Line Calibration
    6. CPU VTT (having 4 sticks, I might need to increase a little voltage?)

    Thanks.

    My specs:
    ASUS P9X79
    i7-3820
    32GB DDR3 1600MHz CL9 Corsair Vengeance
    XFX HD7750
    Contact 30 as cooler.
    Cooler Master 750W + 80 Plus Bronze

Yeah...I know, glad that I can help. It is one of those things that I can do when I have time. Deleting spam is time-consuming, but it is worth doing for the benefit of the forum.
