Have done clean install of Windows 8. All the FN keys work. Everything works. Except the touch pad driver. The touch pad is always on. No way of disabling it. No way of installing driver. An error...

I have mine set to 900,1800,1600. My temps never rise above 62 C after a few hours of battlefield 3 on medium/high settings @ 1366 x 768 resolution. P11114 3DMarks is my 3dmark10 score.

This may be irrelevant but about half way through deleting the bloatware I experienced this too. Once it was all removed it went back to being 1-4 seconds max.
