Well I tried a few things;
The 2nd card could do 3.0 in any slot as long as the 1st card wasn't present in the system.
So I then tried swapping the cards, the one I had in the top slot, now in...

Not a problem at all, you are most welcome. :)
Haha you're not rubbing salt into the wound at all. I was just confirming your settings. It looks like the performance plan keeps the PCIe link...
Could I clarify some of your system specs:
You have a C2 stepping processor I take it?
And you are using the 2 680s in slots 1 and 3?
Do you have a card in slot 2b?
Or in 2a, 4 or the pcie...
Sorry for the late reply, here it is:

Turbo multi is x40, non turbo is standard, BCLK is 100.
GPUs are standard clocks for Direct CUII Top 680.
I have the additional PCIe power plugged into the board, is there a way to adjust it?
I tried with different ram and I still have issues at 3.0 speeds. Have not tried 3.0 on one card only yet.
Yeah, I've played around with virtual machines, and I use one pretty frequently,...
Sure, I'll give that a try first.
Thanks for the idea.
When I tried overclocking the ram about 9 months ago I had some issues, but nothing since then. The system has been completely stable until 3.0. If I hibernate and don't shut down for 3 or so weeks...
I tried enabling this, and I'm having issues.
The cards work great in sli at 2.0, but once I enable 3.0 I get intermittent crashes, reboots and bluescreens. Usually after playing a game for say an...
You could.... try booting with only one stick in the faulty slot(s). That would determine if the OS can actually use the faulty slot. Especially since CPUZ can see the RAM.
Your processor may not be seated correctly. Or a faulty board.
Try connecting a floppy disk power connector to the board for additional RAM power.
Fantastic,
You may also be interested in installing nvidia control panel and enabling the nvidia card as dedicated phyzx. Should give your gaming performance a bit of a bump :)
Thank you very much HighViz, extremely helpful as always.
What temperature sensors/thermocouples are people using on this board?
You know, the ones you connect that can then be linked to controlling the speed of certain fans.
A link to where you can buy...
no, the one at the bottom I have put a green box around is a programming connector. To the right of it are the two BIOS chips, then continuing right a fan header, two USB 2.0 jacks, a USB 3.0 jack...
Every time I hibernate my PC and I have the monitor window open in "full widget" skin mode, when I reboot it defaults back to the "full skin" mode. However even that is screwed up and covered in...
OK, but the 10 pin connector at the bottom of the board which is also unlabeled and not in the manual is a programming connector. I guess this could be another one. Not a big deal anyway, it would be...
Bump
Anyone?
Or anyone know who or where I should ask this question?
There are 2 types of headers on the board. The Chassis_x headers and the Opt_fanx headers. The Chassis fans run at a constant 100% speed as far as I can tell. The Opt_fan headers correspond to the...
There are 2 other unlabeled connectors which I managed to find information about, I have labeled these with green boxes. The 3 pin one near the start button is linked to the CPU Vcore. The one near...
heh, I'm just retarded I guess.
I was just pushing down on the clip, but pushing at an angle towards the front of the board and down worked fine. There is even a slot on the clip which the blade...
Has anyone else had success with this?
My issue is with the white plastic clip at the end of the PCI slot. I can't reach it with my hand as the CPU heatsink and RAM are in the way, and the GPU goes...
