Been awhile since I was on here. Immediately got your msg, Fangrim. Had to upgrade the bios, but the "random reboot from hibernation" problem now seems fixed. Thanks! Tho I must admit that it became...
I use Alesis M1Active for some music production (I plan to upgrade, but they are good for the price). Otherwise for streaming music via bluetooth, you'll be surprised by how good the Logitech...
I got this one:

I'll add that the G75 fits well in...
Get a flathead screwdriver and slowly pry it open. It'll pop in various places, but don't worry, it's supposed to. When putting the cover back on, kinda slide the rear area in first, then start...
Congrats, man! Enjoy!
You may well be right regarding the Win7 Serial key activation date - However, I did today what John did and got the exchange receipt from Best Buy. The updated date is now 6/3/2012, which is the...
Hmm... okay, well I know what I'll be doing this weekend. Thanks.
No kidding. You just told them you wanted to qualify for the upgrade or what?
LOL I should have waited another week! I got mine on 5/29. However, I did do a price match on the 3rd because the price on the G75 dropped from $1299 to $1249 (locally anyway). Maybe MS will buy...
Not sure if putting the blu-ray does void the warranty either, but it really shouldn't. I did it, and it only took minutes to do. One mounting screw under the main panel, transfer the bracket to the...
I'm actually packing up to move. Puters, TV, gadgets all going to boxes and storage for awhile. All I'll have is the G75, and my Android phone - So I'd say that's a good excuse for dropping in a...
Got the UJ-240 as suggested. Just installed it. Probably took no more than 5 minutes. One screw under the main panel, pull it out. unscrew the adapter on the old dvd-rom and transfer to the new...
Yup, just a piece of plastic. Which is funny, because the demo unit at the Best Buy where I bought mine still has the plastic on the touchpad. I knew that looked weird. Definitely get yourself a...
I'll chime in a little... my G75vw-bbk5 also does the (not so) random reboot. Tho it only does it a few minutes out of hibernation, shutting the lid, then opening it up later. So now I just don't do...
Hmm... I shoulda thought about trying that.
Quite a large bullet, yet quite a nice bag!
Was thinking about getting one of these. Looks pretty hardcore.
~fixed link
It's a Metro Vacuum ED500 btw
If that's so, why did Asus bother posting up the Intel drivers? This G75 is my first ROG beast, so it's all I know. ::shrug::
I basically ran into the same problems you had, but I did the system image onto my external usb drive instead. The recovery disc didn't want to boot, so I used my old Home Premium upgrade disk and...
Hmm.... okay I'm buying that. Thanks for the info! A blu ray logo would look nice there, but I don't think I mind the sleeper look either.
Nice! What about the bezel. was it easy to replace? -- If you even bothered with it.
It does take a bit of prying off. When you put it back on though, slide the rear in first, then snap the rest back down. I had a harder time putting the cover back on until I figured that out.
I'm curious about this too. I did look up the Asus eStore and there is an assortment of drives that don't come with a bezel. I wonder which one is compatible, and if the dvd-rom bezel will slip over...
Haven't thought about putting any monitoring software in yet. Good idea.
Oh and BF3 took 3 minutes to install xD
bah Nevermind. There's now a 4.5gig update. Curses!
