    M4A89GTD Pro/USB 3 issue

    i am having an issue with my motherboard which i just cant seem to fix, when ever a device is plugged into any of the usb slots on the case front panel or the rear of the mobo itself the computer freezes and or crashes resulting in a hard reboot. currently on the 2nd board after having rma'd the first one and the issue persists

    The issue is not with the motherboard but with the case or the tray your motherboard is mounted on. I suggest you remove all the hardware and check each and every cable from and too the front panel header on the case. Often there are small nicks or cuts that cause the kinds of problems you are describing.

    Same with your motherboard mounting, check carefully that there are no bits that could be causing a short or a problem with the In/Out panel.

    And finally check your PSU with a PSU tester that all is as it should be.

    The reason I am suggesting these options is because the likelihood of the same fault with two boards being supplied to a single customer is near zero. Possible but not probable. So I am trying to find where or what could be causing things to go wrong.

    Try the motherboard out of your case. Use the box it came on and set up with the least amount of items connected.

    And could you list your full set up please, include all items that are connected to the motherboard including USB type stuff.

    static electricity

    Check yourself for static electricity. One of my PC does this ever time I don't ground myself first. I can hear it pop sometimes. Just a thought.

    Right thanks for your hardware list.

    I assume that the item that you are trying to connect to the motherboard is not on that list. That is why I asked for the USB items too.

    None the less.

    Take the motherboard out of the case and use the bare minimal amount of items needed to post. Once in OS plug a USB device into the back and see if the system freezes.

    There is one possibility but it's easy to test, Since it's your front panel header. Plug the Header into another Motherboard and test it to see if it does the same thing. Those headers are so common and in such large quantities that bad ones are common. That's why Case Manufacturers always have replacements and upgraded ones available.
