Asus ARES - Compatible?

Hi.

I got an Asus ARES GPU and a P5QD Turbo motherboard. (Also a q9550 @ 4GHz)
Is the ARES GPU compatible with my motherboard? I'm wondering since my motherboard only allows one GPU (it only has one PCI-e slot) and the ARES has two 5870 cores.

Why I'm asking this is because I can't play Battlefield 3 @ maximum graphics settings without some lag/microstuttering, but my friend can without any problems. I have the latest drivers and CAP etc.

The card is bottle necking your CPU I would think.

How do you mean? My thought was that my old 775 socket Intel q9550 was the bottleneck.
(It's the same problem @ 3.8GHz)

Yes that is correct. The CPU can not handle the traffic so to speak.
