The graphics card has to be capable of portraying the image at 120HZ refresh rate which it isn't. The thing that gets me is that they USED to be. I remember being able to use 120Hz with my older graphics cards and CRT monitors (10 yrs ago). Today's graphic cards are geared towards LCD Monitors with a maximum refresh rate of 60Hz. It does not matter what the receiving unit is capable of and what cables you have if the graphics card cannot do 120Hz. Just go in 'Screen Resolution/ Advanced Settings' and click on 'list All Modes' to see what your graphics card is CAPABLE of.
I knew this prior, but somehow you had made me think that a card was made with that capability. I just had to find out for myself. I would love to watch my movies in 120Hz, but I don't think it is going to happen just yet.
