Your source says "Currently the series Asus G74 and G53 Asus exploit a high-end GPU Nvidia GeForce GTX 580M"...

I think these guys don't have too much knowledge about the G-series laptops 🙂

Is that an actual "num lock" key I see? Wish I could trade my G74SX in...

I thought the same thing! I just returned my G74sx to BB. I actaully really liked the system except for 2 issues - the num lock and the 560m. Both of these are addressed by the G75, so now I'm waiting........

If you don't like 560M so don't waste your time and look for HD6970 or 6990/580 because new-old card 660/670M probably introduce the same or just little bit better performance

At last from TigerDirect! The G75 has surfaced with the GTX670m onboard for $1529 (US dollars) and yes, they do ship international. I would rate their customer service at a 3 out 5, didn't care for the customer service attitude.

Bestbuy has the G75VW-BBK in for $1259

Edit: sorry pre-order only, going to call them and find out if it will be available tomorrow

Anyone have a chart of what Asus model numbers mean? A1 A2 AX DH AH BBK all so confusing

Tiger direct has them up for sale http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/searchtools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=2577876&csid=_22

they wont be shipping out until the 6th of may though 😞

Edit:

OKAY

3 bestbuys within100 miles of me have the G75SW-BBK in, it has a 1TB hard drive, but only 8GB RAM and no blu-ray

it IS $100 cheaper than tiger, but i will have to pay local tax +$130 and drive 100 miles... So i may still order form tiger despite the smaller hard drive the blu-ray, tax free, and extra memory may well be worth the savings and the wait 😧

It looks like Best Buy G75-bbk has 8 meg less ram, the Nvidia GTx660M (not even GTX670m) and no blue-ray. I think my money will be going to Tiger Direct for the extra toys. Maybe throw in a 120 GB SSD HD and see what this new chipset can do.
