Go to "Advanced" then "Onboard Devices" then disable "ASM1061 Storage Controller"

    YOU GUYS ROCK

Here is what I have entered into my CHV Database (so I can remember this in the future)...

    ASM1061 Storage Controller:
This is a third-party ASMedia controller (hardware and software) for a 7th SATA port (SATA6G_E1) on the MB. It should be used ONLY for a 7th drive or to plug in a DVD drive into the eSATA port on the back of the MB.

ASMedia is responsible for the Device Not Found message at the initial post screen right after turn on. It is looking for any devices plugged into the two ASMedia ports. It is also responsible for slow boot up.

Disabling turns off the ASMedia SATA6G_E1 port on the MB which most people do not need at all unless you have 7 drives and need the extra port. It completely removes the Device Not Found message and boots directly to the BIOS selection screen (where you can press the Del key to get into the BIOS).

NOTE: You should also uninstall (in Windows) the ASMedia driver as it slows down Windows boot-up.

    Think that about covers it.

Disabling the ASM1061 Storage Controller resolved another little problem that I had...

When restarting Windows the Red ROG Full Screen would come up TWICE... once right after Shutting Down Windows and again during the boot-up. After Disabling the ASM1061 Storage Controller the one after Shutting Down Windows is completely GONE.

Now my CHV boots really nice (and FAST, FAST,FAST).

Boy-oh-boy that ASM1061 Storage Controller was a total DOG.

go to boot menu in bios and change the Force Bios to keep current and that will do it.
