radeon 7970 vs radeon 6990

hi, is the Sapphire HD 6990 a good alternative to the Asus HD 7970 DC II?
since no 7970 DCII ready for sale, i'm searching for alternatives...

some advices?

Yes it is - but you can buy the card online and many on-line retailers ship to Switzerland.

the prob is i have searched online and can't find even one ready to deliver , my supplier here in Switzerland , yesterday have in website "Late February", today have "No date known"... Tomorow arrives the last pack with proc and mobo, and i haven't GPU... GRRRRRRR (just come bad words in my mind now...) .

I know the 2-slot version HD7970-3GD5 is available at retail; however, the 3-slot version HD7970-DC2T-3GD5 has not shown up on any web sites for sale yet. The thread below indicates that ASUS has run into a voltage regulation problem with this card and that it may not be available for sale until the end of March. I am waiting for this 3-slot version too as it has 4 DisplayPort connectors that I can use to connect to my 3 monitors (Dell U2410s) to avoid or lessen tearing.

gtx 580 sli (2x)?
HD 6990 ?
or simply wait?
