    R4E doesn't finish POST

Hey All - been running my R4E board since release and all has been well, up until a few days ago. I updated the BIOS to the latest on the support site (1101), then proceeded to reset my OC settings. It failed to boot, so I went back into BIOS and loaded defaults - this is when things went awry.

Upon reboot, it hung at the splash screen. I had to pull the plug and drain the power before it would boot up again. I then plugged in a second machine to the ROG connect to get some more detail on what was happening and its hanging on "AC99 - Load VGA Bios".

Since then I've tried clearing CMOS, flashing a different BIOS, using the secondary BIOS, removing all RAM except for one stick but all to no avail - it constantly hangs on AC99 Load VGA Bios.

Any insight on what else I can try?

    Thanks in advance!

The error code says it all, for some reason your system isn't loading the BIOS from your VGA card properly. Go to the manufacturer's website and see if you can track down an updated BIOS for your card and flash it.

This did the trick! After that it posted just fine, then I continued to plug everything else in and we're back in business...don't know what was going on really but glad to boot again. Thanks Shamino (and others who posted suggestions!)

The fix will be added to the FAQ and problem solving guide.
