thats from the first post in this thread. not sure what to click on from this file from the asus site.
    http://support.asus.com/Download.asp...4_z9201015.zip.

    just setup.exe?
Ignore those instructions......that command line stuff is unnecessary. Just download the latest Intel chipset update, which is an executable file. (I.e., there's no separate "setup", per se....rather, the downloaded file itself, infinst_auto, is an executable self-installer package.)

    Sure....

    Ethernet Controller........................................ .....Realtek Ethernet Driver
Intel Centrino Wireless-N + WIMAX 6150...........Intel WLAN driver (disable the WIMAX device if you don't use that service)
Network Controller........................................ ......This is probably one of the previous devices, so those drivers should remove this listing
PCI SImple Communications Device...................Intel MEI driver
USB Controller........................................ ..............Ensure that you've installed the Intel chipset drivers first, as this covers the USB2.0 controllers
............then install the Fresco USB 3.0 driver
USB 2.0 CRW............................................... ...........Realtek Card Reader driver

For future reference when doing a clean install, it's a good idea to examine your devices first and assemble all the required software before you start. That way, you can establish an optimal workflow and install everything in the the best order, rather than piecemeal. It also makes the whole install go a lot faster.

On a G74, the ideal installation starts with Windows and the Intel chipset, then goes to the essential hardware drivers, and finishes up with the ATK Package. After that, do the Windows Updates and install your security software. That's a clean, complete installation.....a stable foundation for the optional software you want to install and use.

Kind of a random question but does anyone have the same type of link but for Vista Home 64? Need to do a reinstall on an older asus laptop I have and can't find the recovery discs!

    win 2008 server r2 drivers

    Hi there,

Sorry for the unknowns related to forum protocols if I am in the wrong area.

I have installed win 2008 server - standard r2 - on my g53s laptop, and there are some drivers that are having problems; specifically, the atheros AR9002WB-1NG wireless adapter, and a handful of other stuff, usb controller, etc.

I am just wondering if such drivers exist to allow me to run the os on the laptop or not?

...I need that os for a software product that requires it.

    Thanks,

    Richard

so those links on the first page are dead! and im at a loss ...

I just did a clean install, i dont have the recovery partition anymore I thought everything could be downloaded from Asus's website. In fact i can ... problem is the IntelR Turbo Boost Technology Driver. When i install it says " This computer does not meet the minimum requirements for installing the software", i read elsewhere that i need the driver from the "asus g73jw-a1 recovery disc" can someone please help, i want my Turbo Button working again
