    So many sleepers in 183368

    HI,
watching the stats on extremeoverclocking.com I`m number 6 (!!yieh-ha!!) of our top producers and it won`t take long until I`m listed under the top 100 users (!!yieh-ha-ha!!).
But what`s wrong with all those which doesn`t fold since weeks?

I've found that a lot of people come & go from folding teams. However I think the biggest culprit is that we have people who only folded during contests to try and win prizes. Some of them have moved to other teams and some may have stopped folding entirely.

Well yes, there are things you can do though such as setting the -smp # flag to limit the number of threads it will consume. Kinda hard to change that every time you start gaming though. You pretty much have to decide what an appropriate balance is if the alternative is constantly starting & stopping the client.

Yes allot of people do only fold during contest, but every WU counts towards making life better for us (Mankind) our children and grandchildren, It would be nice if people continued to fold after the contests but unfortunately allot do not. There are allot of reasons for this remember it cost $$$ for the electricity to fold, people have other uses for there computer, some just do not think about it. some do not think anyone will ever benefit from it or can't be bothered with it and just say let some one else do it. And of course there are those that fold purely for selfish reasons (Give me something and I will fold). The list of reason to fold or not is endless.

I really do not care what anybody's reason is for folding or not folding. I believe that if a person has completed 1 WU then they have moved science 1 step closer to there next discovery and possibly a cure or prevention of a disease. I really wish everybody with a computer would fold or do something with it's spare cycles to benefit mankind 24/7 but until that happens I will be happy with each and every WU whether it came from a person folding 1 or a person folding 1,000,000.

Just Remember You Have to Complete 1 Step Before You Can Take The Next
