"IN SCIENTIA SALUS" (healing by science) is the slogan of the Universty Hospital Heidelberg, Germany. (Heidelberd also is the the US Army HQ Europe section, maybe you know this city)
They can shoot cancer cells by using a small particle accelerator (like the CERN in Swiss, only smaller) http://www.klinikum.uni-heidelberg.d...?id=117968&L=1
This is very "in scientia salus"!!

That's pretty sweet, but I wonder what the actual cost is for someone to under go that procedure. We need to find a way to find a full cure and make it available to the low income families and not just the rich.

In Germany we have the "compulsory health insurance". It`s payed 50/50 by employee/employer, this is a pretty thing. I know americans sometimes have to take life-time credits to be able to pay their therapy.
Money is a stupid thing, especially in social themes.
For example: the factory I work for is producing wheel-chairs. Our standart model does 50% of our turnover, but 0% of the benefit.
Uh I am so offtopic - dragon`s right, there should be cheaper solutions.

No problem Loud&Fast, Sometimes it nice to point things off and go off topic to do so. You really just confirmed what I was talking about have cheaper options THAT WORK for the poor. As you mentioned in your post, your factory produces several types of wheel chairs. the cheapest chair doesn't do a damn thing to help beside provide seat of wheels, lol, but makes for most of the companies profit. However the factory makes higher end chairs that actually do more in the form of help, but cost so much more money! Now because they cost so much more, the poor cannot ever take advantage of those benefits that would help them more. These options should also be available to the poor in a way that they can afford.

I probably shouldn't say this but so many companies are SO GREEDY and only out for your money. I call them nothing but CAPITALIST PIGS!

Now their are other companies, I'll call them the Robin Hoods, on the other hand that are willing to outstretch themselves to help the needy and don't worry about how it is going to affect their bottom line. These Robin Hood companies are the ones that I like to support.

All in all, this is one reason why I feel folding is sooo Important...

@dragon: you got me wrong, the standart chair does non of the companies profit. the assembly line of this chair costs the same amount as the company earns by selling this chairs. The price limit is set by the health insurance. And the quality,- is made in Germany. If s.o. want more comfort, audjustability or a sports-chair, he`s got to pay the amount which is over this limit by himself.

Ah, okay, either way, there is some issues with how many companies of the world operate. Hence, again, is why Folding is so important.

I also was kind of surprised to see myself in the "Top 20 Producers" on the 5th place. But then I though:

    ****yeah-meme.jpg

-> I'm going to fold further, no matter what happens!

About the companies: Yes, they're really greedy (not all, but the most ones) and they just spend their money on things which are bring more benefits to them. They don't really care for things such as social engagement or else. But that's the world today. It's the way the people live in order to get a better progress.

About some people: I made the experience that the most people I know (95% to be exactly) don't even know about this way of helping (f@h) and if they inform themselves, they just don't belief that it works or that it's a really big help.

I personally, watch forward to get as more PPD as possible and try to get the max out of my rig. But I think that in two months my PPD drops, because I'll buy the new AMD HD 7970 and I've heard it folds not better as the 6000 series. The new graphics card is really expensive so I won't be able to buy the second one, first.

For me, I`ve stoped folding, but only becaus I run my PC hardware naked now. Doing some upgrades to the case and rebuild the rig. Than folding will go on for me.
