Hi everyone, I just recently became owner of a R3E board - my first Asus motherboard. I am an enthusiast pc builder/modder, now would try to OC too. Have to clarify some temperatures on this motherboard before I would make changes. Before go into my question, have to say that I got the motherboard with a water block on it and I remounted the original air heatsink. All temps looks good to me, except CPUTIN and AUXTIN in HWmonitor (last edition). After just turning on the pc, and leaving it idle for 30 minutes, shows the CPUTIN max reached 56C, the AUXTIN max got to 71C - however, it went down to 26 and 36, respectively. Room temp was 20.5C. Started prime95, but these temps went over 100C in less then 5 minutes, so I stopped it. Rest of the idle temps: SYSTIN - 24C, SB -30, NB - 33, Core1-6 - between 19-23C. With prime95 none of the temps went over 50C in that short time before I stopped it. What are those CPUTIN and AUXTIN? What is running hot? Or just a bug?
Did some more research regarding my question. Tuned the CPU (with Level Up) and VGA (Smart Doctor) a little bit and re-run the WEI. Below is a picture of my desktop after these changes. Highlighted the temps I am asking about.
Also checked the HWMonitor version, is 1.19.0. The AI Suite shows the same temps as those mentioned in the "Value" column. An interesting observation is that during WEI assesement CPUTIN "Value" never passed 46C, while the "Max" was growing until reached 96C as shown on the picture. The AUXTIN practically did not changed during this small test.
Please, help me with this issue! Would like to do real OC but I don't want to fry my system at the beginning...
