From what I can see, I play only BF3 ( and only few hours ) I will take the ENGTX of my son and give him a GTX680 , he like Skyrim ( finally after 4 months) BF3 run fast enough on a 580, I can play on 3 monitors, it's to hard for my eyes with eye glasses , do a 580 on a 1920 x 1200 is perfect

Did a search 10 minutes ago. I couldn't believe that it came out yesterday. I had to grab one as they are sparse. I'll get another next month if I am pleased with it's performance and such.

Running a trifire 7970 in my main box and two GTX 590's in another. Can't wait to do the comparison benchmarking! I anticipate a photo finish.

Getting ready for a new build and I have been looking at MOBO's. I think I just can't find anything better than the Rampage (or another ASUS; although love the LGA 2011/X79) nothing has proven better or even close. The top five motherboards listed on the 3DMark website are all ASUS not one other brand/manufacturer listed.

I'll post/compare the bench results in the forum when I get the 680.

The one good thing about the 680 cards is that they run a little cooler than my 7970 cards. Performance from my perspective is still AMD. Mainly because of the huge over-clocking headroom advantage the 7970 brings. But I am not a typical user.

Turns out that as of now the 680's don't run at Gen 3. I believe the drivers included on the installation DVD (not as stable) will be post release drivers won't. I am assuming they will fix this. Hopefully sooner than later.

"GeForce GTX 680 supports PCI Express 3.0. The Intel X79/SNB-E PCI Express 2.0 platform is only currently supported up to 5GT/s (PCIE 2.0) bus speeds even though some motherboard manufacturers have enabled higher 8GT/s speeds."

Of course I never read this before ordering the cards..... Lol. Typical.

I will not worry to much about this 3.0 thing, it's seems that 3.0 as been marketed way before it was really supported, Asus are probably the last on to blame, it's MSI and Gigabyte who start the marketing of the 3.0 on their board. I think it was Raza or Brian ( probably both ) at the time who said that 3.0 is far from be ready, that no 3.0 GPU as been manufactrurer and tested, he was dam right.

Was unaware of that. Good to know. I'm assuming Nvidia wanted to get those cards out sooner than later just because of the 7970's.

My assassin was probably part of 3.0 rush you mention. ASUS boards are by far superior IMO. Waiting on Ivy Bridge although I have that itch to build NOW. Nothing would exceed this Rampage rig.
