How much radiator surface area to cool 4x 7970's to a decent delta of maybe, 10c?

    Hi guys,
Just ordering my EK waterblocks and backplates and now need some radiators, and its just occured to me that I am a little unsure as to how much cooling area I need.

Will either add this loop into my existing 360 rad, or create a sperate one just for the cards and then add the chipset into the CPU loop, not totally sure yet, but one thing is certain, I want to run teh fans at very low speed as i am aiming for near silence.

Currently, best value for money / performance seems to be the Phobya 1080 with stand.

I really would appreciate any advice here as I am about to press the good old "Buy it now" button. LOL

Since you want to use low speed fan, I will create a loop for the GPU only and use push pull on this gorgeous rad ( I have the same one but quad only) You just have to find a way to vary the speed of the fans, what case are you using ? ( I know this rad will be outside )

A decent rule of thumb is at least 120mm per card. If you want to run low speed then you might consider 2x 360 low restriction rads with some fans on a controller.

I'm sure that external would work well; I'm just not a fan of detached rad boxes.

Thanks, am using an Aquaero controller so that is no problem.
The case is a Corsair 800d which already has a 360 in the roof for the CPU.

Nor I normally, but my particular room setup will mean its totally out of sight behind the desk in a corner where it cant even be seen.

At least it's easy to clean when it's external, but easy to damage.

here a pic of my similar quad rad, it's in a Mozart TX case, the problem was to find screw. I get them from a hobby shop, they are use in model cars or planes

Thanks guys, decided to go for the Phobya Extreme Supernove 1260 and 4x 200mm fans.
