Great doubts about ASUS Crosshair V Formula + AMD FX-8150

    Hello.
I have read in many forums and blogs that have the great reviews on the ASUS Crosshair Formula V with AMD FX with respect to support very poor and very poor performance ... and to summarize my main question, I wonder if today there is a solution or updates to ASUS or AMD for that combination: (ASUS Crosshair Formula V + AMD FX-8150) work as a whole combination of great power or at least more in performance, because even I have not bought and would like to be 100% sure that makes a good choice because I always liked AMD more than Intel ... but also I have another question: Also has solved the problem of AMD FX with Windows 7? Is there any solution?

Honestly I'm really desperate to find a solution. I am one of those who believe that the AMD FX-8150 was not a failure and there may be some solution, but I want to be sure you give your potential buying the Asus Crosshair Formula V.

If they think they can answer the question, please, make it as soon as possible ..

    Beforehand, Thanks.

i would think there would be no problem with 32 bit 7. the only problem i had with the rog motherboard was a cpu fan error on inital boot,i installed a second cpu fan [push, pull ] on my coolermaster hyper 212 evo and it stopped the fan error.i have been running glitch free since

there is really no solution for the lack of performance. I went from a highly overclocked 1100T ( 4.2GHZ CPU, 3.3GHZ NB, 2000MHZ RAM ) on a CrossHair V to a Rampage IV Extreme with a 3930K, and there is a world apart in terms of performance. Notice that this 1100T as I had it running is way above the performance of the FX-8150, so the diference for that would be even greater. I have two GTX590 in quad-sli, and the 1100T couldn't handle the cards properly. For instance, Heaven DX11 benchmark doubled.. Crysis 2 FPS doubled, Metro 2033 maxed at 2650@1600 is playable.

I too was an AMD fan ( 10+ years of using only AMD cpu's ), but I had enough with the lies.

For the future: there is no future for AMD in the med/high CPU performance segment. They are exiting that market and that is as said by them. They are focusing on the FUSION platform, mobile and low power devices.

AMD could have done this in a diferent way. They lied as much as they could, and distorted reality even after the cat was out of the box. They alienated not only normal customers, but long time fans like me.

you are not alone. someone actually went your path and turned back:

    good luck.

I don't see the point of using 32 bits OS in a Crosshair V and a FX-8150. This 8 cores deserve a 64 bits OS , I have 16 gb of ram in mine and I run sometime 2 x Windows 7 and a Windows XP in the VM, so it's 4 OS runing on the same CPU at the same time, and it never crash. I also have an Intel i7-990x , a i7-2600k and I don't see a difference with the AMD FX for my VM usage. I can't comment for my i7-3960X as it's not yet finish.

    Please

Look, I'm no computer expert but I read a lot about it and many things, but something I have not researched and I want to explain it is that you mentioned about 64-bit, because I do not really love the 64 bit because I have understood there are exceptions depending on programs that do not support this, if you can make me a brief summary of why 64-bit is better to have a computer you would appreciate it

the only advantage of using a 64bit OS is to be able to address more than 4GB of ram. That is the one and only diferent feature of a 64-bit OS.

If running windows 7 x64, you will have absolutly no drawback regarding the x32 version, and windows 7 x64 has something called WOW64 ( windows on windows 64 ) that allows 32 bit software to run on the 64BIT OS with no performance penalty. So there is really no reason to go for windows 7 x32. It is transparent for the user. Just install whatever software you like, and it will work.
