    Hi there

I don't know exactly how much RAM your Intel Core i7 720QM processor can handle, but on ark.intel.com it says the processor can handle up to 8GB RAM with DDR3 1333MHz.

This info can be wrong.... so in this other forum post #18, the user says he is running fine with 16GB RAM 1600MHz..... but due to the MB, BIOS will downclock the RAM to 1333MHz.

Since you're going to repaste the GPU and CPU you should clean the fans to hehe

I took the advise and RTFM'd

    Four DIMM slots model
DIMM slot 2 is located at the back of the motherboard and will be populated by memory at the factory if the Notebook PC comes with four DIMM slots. We recommend you visit an authorized service center or retailer if you would like to upgrade or change the memory installed on DIMM slot 2.

ROG site is filling all my needs nicely... thanks

I'm not sure what you mean with RTFM'd

Yes, you got 4 RAM slots so I thought you maybe want this GUIDE that shows how to disassemble your notebook

As far as I know, you have 2 RAM slots available when you open up the bottom case, and 2 on the other side of the motherboard (if I'm not wrong).

EDIT: So you're planning on buying a new laptop next year? Which SSD have you been looking at ?

    intel

I want first and foremost a stable system as I use it mostly for strategy games not flight sims ... I chose strictly on intel rep for reliability. intel 520... probably
