Anyway, i tried to update it but all the guides i've seen are as complicating as hell (it tells me i have to make a DOS bootable usb and update it through the bios --> they dont have a simple program to run from windows).
I don't have that brand, but some SSD firmware updates must be done outside of Windows. With Crucials, for example, you burn a bootable CD with a file they provide.....it contains all the necessary software for the updating process. Maybe it's something like that....

Okay, just checked my BIOS. SATA config is AHCI. The update process for the p128 is torturous. They provide the files, but its not an iso so i cant simply burn it to a cd. Futhermore, they say i NEED to make a DOS bootable usb but they don't show me how (which is pretty retarded). I feel like just giving up on the p128 and get a new ssd, would save me loads of trouble.

I have installed another brand of SSD and WIN7 cant even find it no matter if I put it to IDE or ACHI.

Is that little tape like cable all that is needed? Does it send power to the harddrive through it? I'm trying to confirm that separate power supply isn't neccessary somehow.

If if isn't why doesn't windows find my new SSD?

Let's keep this conversation in the separate thread you started on it.

Okay, i managed to borrow my friend's acer laptop. I tried doing a clean install on the OS on his laptop and it works just fine. So i have come to a conclusion that its definitely a compatibility issue with the g74s. Seems like i'm gonna have to buy a new ssd after all
