    I've just had to reinstall windows because i kept getting blue screens any given moment for no apparent reason with all factory settings. I am absolutely pissed. No idea what went wrong however when going through the minidumps from the BSODs it would seem that either the ATI main drivers or the EEU (external event utility) were clashing with NTOSKERNEL.sys, the main windows file and then BSODing on the spot. Perhaps a recent windows update has triggered this. All i know is that i have confirmed that the drivers are the source of all evil. Oh except for one thing - the card in slot 1 (x16 3.0) WILL ONLY RUN AT x8 NO MATTER WHAT. NO SETTINGS ANYWHERE TO FIX THIS. God almighty, help ASUS to help us.

    Everyone, go to Spoonys thread he started about the customer relations at ASUS regarding GPUs and complain your heart out. Together we can make a difference.

    @Spoony: I wrote you a PM

    Anyway today i have finished reinstalling Windows and running everything on stock settings. I had to reinstall cos i got bsod related to the atimpdag.sys or something driver along those lines EVERY BOOT, even on a fresh boot leaving the PC off for 5 minutes. I have made no software changes and i haven't been OCing for a good few days and even when i did it was only for a few minutes to test games but to no prevail only bugs. Truly F*** ASUS and their GPU department, Maybe i'll go with EVGA and NVIDIA at that. This is absolute BS and i'm ready to break these cards as much as loved them from the start. I'm to scared to RMA or try get a refund because ASUS support is crap. This is all BS...

    im currently out this weekend working chaps, im back monday, give me a couple of days to chat with support or other means of actiona dn i wil let you know how it goes. im also going to mail AMD aswell as ASUS about a few things.

    BTW just out of asking how you boys tried drivers 12.1 or 11.12 ? i found them to work well and its what im using right now. also you might want to swap the GPU on the rampage 4 extreme to the other 16x slot and check that, one mother board i had did have a faulty PCI lane and wouldnt work my card in crossfire if a card was in slot one and i have 3 cards.

    also when im back i will screen shot a few things or take pics of bios settings i have so you can compare to mine, im not gettign as many BSOD as you but i get a few in games my problem is more than 3 screens and also the 8x3.0 but i solved that yesterday with a bios switch and reinstall of the bios and now its 16x 3.0 unless its in the power save mode.

    marchinho93...... PM me on the forum and give me your details of your system and your bios and drivers and so on please and i will do what i can to help you aswell ok buddy

    I am now running 12.5 beta drivers and they are actually working quite well for me now. I was still getting a BSOD after reinstalling windows which turns out to be COMODO Internet security sandbox driver, which was disabled anyway but still caused the BSOD when trying to update Win7 to SP1 x64. Weird but arwell, i even uninstalled the AMD 12.4 driver and ran the whole install on VGA driverless mode just to be sure it wasn't CCC. Had it working for a few hours now, i will keep updated here on my status.

    @Spoony: I would really like to know EXACTLY how you fixed that x16 issue, which bios and what settings? Thanks in advance man, your a legend. I was too scared to fiddle around with a whole heap of settings so thanks for putting your Mobo on the line to find the solution

    lol ive already had 5 other Ramepage 4 Extremes go wrong so i know abit about them and problems and fixes lol.

    sent you instructions its easy to do. i started on bios 1103 i think it is and that bios was actually the best and most stable of them all ive used and ive tested them all even beta bios on the forum, it actually fixed a few things with other areas just some overclokcing features are not there thats all. its no biggy i manually clokc not profile anyway.

    12.4 are a pile of crap dont use them i couldnt get on with them very well at all. one problem you wil have is this alot of ANTI VIRUS doesnt like AMD drivers no idea why but they dont and crash things. un install your silly sandbox.

    i use the follwing and ive NEVER had issues of a virus or anything else if im honest on my PC. i would never normally say miscrosoft but ive got on well with them in windows 7 64bit

    Miscrosoft security essentials.
    windows defender

    that all nothing more. i do run scans with AVG now and then and then uninsall it and also spybit but i find just cookies and other crap and my PC is clean as a whistle.
