ASUS Maximus IV Extreme-Z Z-68 Motherboard

I have 2 problems with this motherboard that I could sure use some advice on.

1. The board has to boot up twice everytime I power it up.

2. When overclocking I cannot go over 1.56 Volts on the CPU. Even with the "Extreme OV" enabled in the bios.

for you fist problem, make sure the blk are set at 100 mhz, anything else cause the board to post twice.

hummmm you link an EVGA contest, you should include your spec in the signature instead.

I added my stats in my sig but they would not show so I edited my post to show them.

My BCLK/PCIE is at 104 but I am running 3 580's so I was trying to open up my FSB some. Is it a problem to run it higher or is that just the way the mobo runs?

1,56 volts is way to high and not safe, especially if you keep it 24/7 I don't know why you want to go higher with a H100. What are your temps ? If you want to go at 5,2 ghz I suggest you get a real water loop.

Thats overkill for 5,2 ghz

The Batch number is 3134B599

At 1.56 it is stable @ 5.2 but I want to go faster and the voltage is holding me back.

I have the same batch number 2700k you currently have now. 1.56volts is pretty scarey for 24-7 usage. What kind of temps are you getting out the h100? I'm guessing you are running a push and pull combo for that kind of volts. And when you mention stable, I assume you mean intel burn test, prime95 blend, etc?

Moving on, I believe it is called cpu thermal protection is what you are looking for in the uefi settings. If I recall correctly it is under the cpu setting or digi+ menu. I also have issues when booting when using a bclk over 103 on mine. As it will freeze after the windows logo and just sit there. Anything under that it boots fine. Still testing and trying stuff to see what the issue is with it.

But bottom line is that is a rather large amount of voltage to use for 24-7. But you just maybe using it for benchmarking which is fine for short amounts of time. Just not 100% sure what your goal is or what you are trying to do yet. Thanks
