Crosshair V with FX 8120 new build, no post no beep

I started getting parts for a new system starting in September 2011 with a Crosshair V which I just shelved until the Bulldozer was released. Back in march I ordered my FX8120 finally along with some Patriot Division 2 15000 as they were on sale, and just finally got my cooler master 690 II this afternoon. I am using a new OCZ gameXstream 700w which I had sitting in my shelf for maybe 3 years, I just never got around to putting it in my old system so saved it for a new system. My video card is my old HD 4870.
So I got everything put together, took my time being careful making sure to get everything right off the bat. I hook everything up and boot the system to find I get no post nor do I even get a beep. I have had ROG connect up and running on my notebook playing with the poster and it sits on code 005A.. I have cleared CMOS every way possible and still no go. Moved my memory sticks around and still nothing, tried with just one in different slots and still the same result.
I have no idea how to find out what BIOS it is running currently. Could it be that the BIOS on my board doesn't support my FX8120? or is my board dead possibly? I can't afford to buy another AM3 cpu just for the sake of flashing the BIOS, so if that is indeed the case I am hoping that the computer repair shop here has a AM3 they can put in so I can update. Is there any way I can use ROG connect to flash my BIOS, or some way via USB?

If you have had the board for a good amount of time chances are that it is the bios, and yes you can flash the bios from a fat32 formatted USB drive. With the new FX cpu I think i remember reading you have to remove the cpu before doing the bios flash, or use an older cpu. ( I'm pretty sure i saw a youtube video where the bios were flashed with no cpu ram or video card plugged in using the ROG connect port)

Thanks for the reply, I will do some digging on flashing with no cpu, I found some links via google relating to the topic so I'll do some reading on that and then proceed tomorrow morning after some rest.
I also read about holding down the Go button to enter a compatibility mode fir the DRAM. I get a flashing DRAM light when press the Go button...but it doesn't flash when I push the start button or press power on the case..no clue what that means. At least I can lean away from my board being dead for the time being, I did get an extended years warranty on it though.

Extract the BIOS onto a FAT formatted USB Drive, reboot and then enter the BIOS. Click on ASUS EZ Flash and go from there. You can update either before or after Win7 has been installed

Myk SilentShadow, thanks a lot!! i was so nervous haha. I noticed your using Corsair Ram, i plan to use 16gb(4x4), so i was wondering if i need to put only 4gb at the beginning and then the other ones before installing win7. I have so many questions about installing formula v, and future troubles.. i need support..(in fact i have a topic in build advice, but nobody is around to answer me)

No worries at all Tenshi, this is what we are all here for Yes, I am using Corsair RAM at the moment...though I will be removing it soon to make way for new Corsair RAM and a faster CPU (when money isn't such an issue lol). You can install all 4 of your RAM modules and they *should* work fine, no need to wait

    Good luck

    Myk

Apparently the CH5 doesn't support the ROG connect flash unfortunately. I just got off the phone with ASUS, they are sending me a new BIOS chip. So I'll have to wait about 8-10 days to get my rig going.
Now on another note. Do I need to have both the 8pin and 4pin eatx12v hooked up? My 700w PSU only has 2 4pin which are labelled "cpu1 cpu2" which I have both plugged into the 8pin, as it appears they are meant to be plugged in that way as they cannot be separated more than 1cm apart. my PSU does not have a 3rd 4pin connector for the eatx12v_1...I would need to get an adapter to go from a regular molex to the 4pin eatx12v_1.
