Damn, that's about € 360. Wonder what the extreme will be at then![]()

My god thats a total fortune! That will convert into approx £350 GBP :S all the extra cost for half of the features of the FTW or the Sniper boards if this is the price its going to hit at retail I think I'll be going with the FTW board instead.

Wow... $450+ in Canada is not going to do it for me. That's way overpriced in my opinion.
The Sniper board is $300, and the Z77 FTW is $330. I was expecting the M5F to be about the $350 price range.

What does it have over the Gene to justify a $150 price jump?
2 sata ports, one PCIE, a water pipe?
I could see $350 for the SKU that includes the ThunderFX, but it shouldn't be more than $300 for the board only.
I put the two boards side by side on the ASUS compare site, and I don't see that many differences.
Is there something I am missing?
I have been thinking the same thing, pepole are way to obssesive about water. What does it have over the Gene to justify a $150 price jump?

Maximus V Gene - 3570k@4.4 - Noctua NH C14 - GTX 670 DC2T
Corsair Vengance 2x4Gb - 2xForce3 240Gb Raid 0 - Sugo SG01B F
Cooler Master 850w silent pro - 2x Redwing 80mm PWM
AIR COOLED BABY
The main reason I'd rather wait for the M5F versus the Gene is I don't personally like the mATX form factor.
300$ should do it for the standard version.. everything above can't be really justified..
