Your main difference would be in access times. Operations like loading small files would be much quicker, Windows would boot quicker, etc. You won't see as much of a difference in sustained read times.
Everyone I know who has gone to SSD has appreciated the change but personally I've only changed to an SSD on my laptop for power saving reasons. For the most part I find that I like having the large amount of space for cheap on spinning discs and the access times aren't really that big of a deal for me.
