Yes because Intel make boards that will work with their competitors CPUs good job sir!
And if you don't like Asus's spport I wish you good luck with gigabyte *puts on indian accent* "Hello sir how may I help you today? Oh nvm it is nappy time good bye!" XD no offense to any indians around this is not directed at you
Foxconn don't make high end boards so they are worthless. (In fact the last Foxconn board I saw was for an Intel P4 Lol)
I wouldn't touch MSI in an expensive system.
As for Biostar I have never even heard of them.

And seriously like Chrs said there is no competition for ASUS, I have done a lot of research and spent a lot of time looking at boards and I would choose a ROG board every time. They are the best boards around for those who want quality parts and if your budget is limited their other boards work brilliant.

My first build had an ASUS P6T Deluxe V2 and after nearly 4 years of hard use I had one PCIe slot start to fail. For me ASUS is the way to go always and I would always recommend their boards to anyone else.

And seriously, you come onto our forums being rude, abusive and just downright horrible to everyone who tried to help you all because you had a bad run with tech support if you treated them the same way I don't blame them for not helping you. I work on a an IT helpdesk not for asus and we will always help out someone who is friendly as best we can. But if you act like that to the person on the phone your lucky if they don't hang up on you.

Speed I use the Asus USB 3 drivers off the disc and they work fine with my CVF.

Yeah they do work fine on the CHV this thread is about the M5A97. Those do not work. The last three M5A97s I put together would BSoD like crazy until I installed the new drivers from the Asus site. Other than that issue they are great motherboards.

Then I misread your post sorry. I read it as the asus drivers on CD in general rather than just this board so I will edit out my comment

you need to remember that the person on the phone is a real person so think about it, If I called you for something and treated you like dirt are you going to want to help me. I work at a auto dealer and see it every day if you are just out of warrenty and have a problem with your car and deal with it in a calm nice manner chances are you will get your car fix with help from the company. companies do this for customer retention. but if you treat us like dirt we will send you out the door with a big bill or we just wont fix it and thats what seem to have happend to you. wish you best of luck with your Gigabyte board I have used them before and I can tell you the quality is not there and the tech support sucks ass.

    just my 2 cent
It's also Asus' RESPONSIBILITY as a quality component maker to make sure that their loyal customers get a working product in their hands with the least amount of downtime.

Nobody wants to deal with RMA's and nobody begins the process by being angry.

But when the customer is given no choice after being led into a dark tunnel with no light in the end, what do you expect a customer to do?

Not everyone has time to deal with these returns, Asus should just pony up and replace a non-working product with a new one, regardless of whatever ridiculous internal issues that they might have.

It's not the CUSTOMER'S problem that Asus does not stock enough products in case of failure, why should a customer be at fault?

If the Asus rep don't want to deal with an angry response, then to find another job. Nobody is putting a gun to your head for working in customer service.
