    New Build advices

    Hi

I need some advice for my build below....thanks in advances...

    Processor:2500k or 2600k or 3570k or 3770k --------Any Suggestion?
    CPU Cooler: Coolermaster V6
M/B: Asus Sabertooth z77 or Asus Maximus V Gene z77 ------ Pls advices..
    Ram: Kingston HyperX 16 GB 1600 (4*4GB) CL9
Graphic card: Asus GTX 560Ti DCUII Top (-- will upgrade when the new to GTX 580 or GTX680 when the price is right--)
HDD: SSD 120GB and seagate 500GB sata 3
PSU: Coolermaster Silent Pro gold 1200w
Case: CoolerMaster Haf-X or probably CoolerMaster 932
    Screen: Samsung 24" LCD

    Usage:
Use on VM for study but after the exam then mostly will use for gaming. Play dota2, starcraft 2, guildwar2, diablo 3 in high or ultra mode and some shooting game.

    What confuse:....
    (Processor)
Is that worth to take new processor ivy bridges or just stick to SB? because currently my PC was using AMD Athlon 64 X2 6000+ so when change either SB or IB is sure will improve a lots.

    (Motherboard)
Dont know go for which motherboard Maximus V Gene ROG Z77 or Sabertooth Z77 since i not a very hardcore overclock guy...maybe will overclock a bit. The Maximus V Gene ROG Z77 (3 years warranty) vs Asus Sabertooth Z77 (5 years warranty).

Thanks for the help and advices.

There's pretty much no point in getting Sandy right now. Ivy is better on most fronts (power consumption/performance/newer boards). So yeah, go Ivy.

For the board, I'd either go with the Sabertooth or an AsRock Extreme6/Fatal1ty Pro.

For graphics, the 560 Ti has no value right now. Replace it with a 7850. It's much more efficient, comes with new goodies like improved Tesselation and can perform better than a 570 when OC'ed heavily.

As for the PSU, it's overkill and has problems with suppressing ripple (dirty power).

I'd replace it with a smaller unit of better performance as you don't need that much power.

    Well... that's all from me.

For graphics I would go with something simple for now like the GTX550 save the $$
For the processor you could get by with something as simple as the i3 2100 but if you want a better balance to compensate i'd go with the i5 for now since they dont create as much heat as an i7 cost less and are in general great for gaming. Waiting for ivy to be released is fine but who wants to wait? Besides it may come out and end up with issues at least whats out now is time tested.

For the board go with the cheaper of the two the sabertooth I believe. Both will allow some overclocking so no worries just dont want features you wont use. The only thing you may miss the most is the different onboard audio options of the boards. But aftermarket sound cards exist so no point in buying a board based on the onboard sound when its a $50 difference.

Power supply is overkill unless you get it super cheap find something name brand in a lower wattage like 650-850watt range. Like Seasonic, Corsair, or even some cheaper Antec, OCZ power supplies.

Unless your planning on running more than 3 graphics cards its total overkill. I ran an AMD fx8120 with gtx560ti on a 430watt corsair power supply well over an hour and it never did die barely got warm.

If you are in america dont bother with a samsung monitor they are nice but take a look at Dell IPS monitors or their gaming monitors. They wont cost much more come with leading 3 year no questions asked warranty. I'm no fan of dell but they have always made good reliable monitors. Check out their U2212HM just a suggestion.

    Smile

The reason i get the Coolermaster Silent Pro gold 1200w because was for prepare to SLI my card for future. Gtx 580 SLI 2 or 660 Ti sli 2(Waiting). That what i targeting for future.

I need a better processor due to running some VM for my study because it usually need to run more than 3 server OS on my machine. That why i thinking 2600k or 3770k maybe will give me some advantage since i currently was using AMD Athlon 64 X2 6000+. But on budget wise 3570k is that good running in VM too or is 3570k fast enough? due to the price was different not that much compare to 3770k causing me headache + confuse.

For mb i may have decide to use Sabertooth Z77.

Casing part will be last to consider but need to get the tower case due to my CPU cooler was Coolermaster V6 a big 1.

Currently i already using 24 inch samsung LCD.

    Thanks for the advices

For what you need you will be better served with the 3770K
The sabertooth is a good board and gets my thumbs up.
The rest well - all do the job.
