    My dear Nikon (1998), 3 mp Compact, with 20% dead pxl, will be replaced..

    Will post some real photos later on...

    And be a little more serious than my last builds..

    lexan is better than plexi or glass. it can stand up to anything.

    I would say no to Glass. I changed the security window of my 932 with a laser etched custom window. Looks 100x better. Plexi is just fine you just have to be careful with the stuff cause it can and will show scratches in it if you are handling it with a pair of Gorilla mitts.

    Oh yes, as many times as my door has fallen over when I've been inside my case doing work on it, I'm glad the window isn't real glass.

    same here ... No glass. too heavy.
    Only when I build my custom wood PC desk, then I want a temper glass, may be 1/4 or 3/8 thick.

    glass = too fractal and dangerous.
    and not easy to drill in if you dont have the right equipment.
    and since you have angles too on that plexi you took out.
    normal or tempered?
