Thread: What is the main benefit of the Gene V over the Gene IV?

What is the main benefit of the Gene V over the Gene IV?

If I'm upgrading my 2600K to a 3770K just cause Would it be beneficial to switch my Gene IV over to the Gene V?

From what I can see it's just mainly the Z77 chipset that is the main difference...will the 3770K work better with the Z77 over the Z68? (I'm not using onboard graphics).

    Thanks!

With a PCIe3 graphics card and Ivy the IV either switches to 8x PCI3 (w. 20% lower latency/same bandwidth) or stays the same PCIe2... I asked but nobody answered.

V has separate VccIO and VccSA

If you are just gaming might as well wait for a few more releases as the 2600K will do for a few years, if not eight to ten years or something (assuming new graphics cards upgrades don't get too incompatible).

No real world performance difference really. More native USB 3.0 Ports...faster memory support (which has no real world performance benefit).

No point in upgrading from Z68 -> Z77.
