intel / amd each to their own ( my opinnion ).
im slightly tilting to intel becouse of the new maximus 5 Thermalfusion Waterblock ( water/air colled nb )
but then again it slightly holds me back since its a m-atx card ( if im not wrong but i can be ) ( the vid of it http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cxPEIgNAvGA )
like i posted on top of this, each to their own some like intel, some like amd.

I guess in my opinion or IMO... I've been pursuaded my people if the pros are bigger than the cons... But really I'd have to check the specifications and price range if it's workable to my budget... after all we're talking about money lol and some people can afford it and others are under budget.... Just have to work with it...

But I like the idea of affordable 8 core like AMD compared to the price tag on the $1,300.00 for i7-3960X which says it out performs their own i7 990X and I've seen prices for FX-8150 at $250 to $350...

But if AMD can make a dent at performance wise to similar performance as 3960X then I'd be buying AMD more... after all overclocking says it all... we want performance. If FX-8150 cannot out perform i7 3960X then it isn't impressive like overclocking performance. Like Shamino showed at 5.8ghz CPU w/ i7-3960X overclocked...

If AMD can have a stable CPU that goes beyond that speed then AMD would be number one because it's not only the speed that counts but multi-cores means multi-tasking the more applications can run and at 5.8ghz speed then AMD would be better than Intel because if i7-3960X can run at 5.8ghz but cannot multi-tasking then the speed would halt the more it eats up RAM the slower the process is then a more stable CPU is required to multi-task not only speed is what overclocking means but if you want impressive performance multi-tasking and speed shows impressive if you can have it all...

That's my 2 cents or my IMO....

i know there is one or two that have oc'd a 8150 to 5.2 but he/they leveled it on 4.8 and let the turbo oc it to 5 or 5.2 when needed ( under full stress ) and those are on water.
i dont remember who have it ( since its a few weeks ago i did read it ).
why not sit down and compare prices for a full build just to see how the price difrence is?
cpu, mem, mobo ( since you may have the rest from before ( move over to the next build mabye ) ).
IF your going ssd get a minimum of 120gig on the os one. ( mines a 120gig and i already have 52gig filled on it ) on raid you will not get more then a couple of sec faster boot ( waist of monny from my opinnion )
storage i guess a hdd is bether becouse the price difrence per gig.
on the amd i know they have passed the 6 ghz on LN2
5.8 on intel i bet its heavy cooled in some way.

my mobo only have pciex v2.0 ( not shure if they are gona come whit a v3.0 but only time will tell ) ( edited )

If I can afford it... I'd like to get both Intel and AMD lol... I'd like to purchase AMD Crosshair V Formula or Extreme (if they had) for LAN MMO RPG gaming... and Rampage IV Extreme Intel for offline and also can use a more graphic motherboard for adobe photo suite and AutoCad like how in prehistoric times they said that Mac PC's are more for graphic applications and Win PC's are more for office application. Yet PC's had most games in it and not much titles on the Mac...

Like the commercial Mac vs PC I'd like to get both if I can afford it. I'm a technological enthusiast lol... Which means I don't care were it's made from... as long as it impresses me in performance I want all impressive technology if I can afford it. Even if that Sonic Jet plane that I read from online news like yahoo.com if the technology came from another planet I'd be fascinated to study and play with it... If it's made in mars or venus or whatever... lmao

As long as it impresses me it must be Xtreme-Performance®

    where you located at?
well when it comes to autocad and programs like that i would go for intel, they say amd is for gaming mostly, and easy OC ( for those who knows how to ( i dont know D... about it, its tial and error. ) )
i have mine "oc'd" to 3.9 but running prime95 it goes down to stock ( i failed )
i bought an external cooler unit whit pump, reservoar and fans on it, and only for the cpu.
costed me around $600 ( or more ) for 9 months ago, and that was the cheepest combo unit i could get whit out geting seperat parts.

It's sweet that you can afford those things... I'd be like I'd purchase both intel and amd motherboards and see for my own bench tester and test which is better... Xeon or Opteron...

Me I come from RoGUSA... I actually wanna move to a different country but I certainly cannot afford it...

Intel is pretty much the performance leader but they are really expensive. You get more bang for the buck with AMD server class hardware. However, unless you're running something that actually needs server class, such as multiple CPUs, you are much better off with consumer grade stuff. Plenty of small businesses run services on consumer hardware because the dollars go further. Even Google often uses consumer grade hard drives for storage because expensive isn't necessarily better. It all depends on the need.

Yes... like business in anything or competition in sports... it's about competitive business.. People want to be better than the original... Like for example... in US we have Lebronz wanted to break original record holder and Kobe broke it...

So original be like mike is like be like intel. And everyone else is AMD wanting to beat the world record like Shamino in Overclocking...
So it's an ugly business but if someone thought of something original... people would want to immitate it and then want to improve them. Just like my posts on that laptop. It advertises it's an overclockers dream especially it's my dream come true to have more than 4GB on a laptop otherwise people would be building custom build laptops not desktops lol (If there's a kit for it let me know but it's not popular like Desktops...)

This is my explanation of my understanding business and competition... and this is also "In my opinion"
