Well some users say one some other, can anyone be more specific? i already searched on google, there are cryptic answers, which does not answer my question: which one to use and why? which is the better controller? thanks!
Try both and see which one reports the greatest cable length.
You could use both if you were worried, might need a good switch though, lol. Seriously though it would not matter either Intel port will beat the port on the NAS or other devices.
The main reason you have two is you might want to use one for a virtual machine, thus you have two good ports instead of one sharing an interrupt.
