    Which LAN port to use on Maximus IV Extreme (P67)

    What port is better quality, and why? thanks!

    As far as i remember they are both the same. So which ever you would like to use. Thanks

    Google is always your friend, just stick it in the lower one it is 100mb, upper one is 1gb.

    as KILLER_K says both r Intel so they should be equal when it come to performance.

    and again u don't need to say (P67) bcs if it was the Maximus IV Extreme with Z68 chipset it's named Extreme-Z ^^

    Well some users say one some other, can anyone be more specific? i already searched on google, there are cryptic answers, which does not answer my question: which one to use and why? which is the better controller? thanks!

    Try both and see which one reports the greatest cable length.

    You could use both if you were worried, might need a good switch though, lol. Seriously though it would not matter either Intel port will beat the port on the NAS or other devices.

    The main reason you have two is you might want to use one for a virtual machine, thus you have two good ports instead of one sharing an interrupt.
