Question I'm inquiring about a 2 way SLI... GPU bridge installation...?!

I was thinking of purchasing a ASUS GF GTX 560Ti 448 cores... I'm still having issues with EVGA GTX 560 Ti overclock version and I'm inquiring if this will be a good to use a 2 way SLI bridge? Or does it have to have the same GPU?

I'm also inquiring if a GTX 560 Ti would work on my old PC (I purchased this from ibuypower.com back in 2006-2007) Asus P5N-D MOBO...

I guess I'm looking for alternatives... that may and maynot work...

Thanks for any advice in advance...

Grotts you have a question there that many have asked and to their JOYOUS idiosyncrasies found heart warming answers!... It only has to be the same MODEL ie 560 will hook up to a 560! Doesn't matter Name Brand or anything else really but you sould at least mach the specs as close as posible like Both have the same amount of memory and the same speeds you know what I'm talking about here you don't want to match up a 550 with 1 gig of memory to a 460 with 2 gigs it won't work but a 560 with 1 gig will have no problem hooking up to another 560 with 1 gig!

Now go and have fun DANG IT! Like SHEEEEEEZZZZZZZEEEEE!

Nja, there a differences in bios,, limitations.. from vendor to vendor..

Lets say you overclock a 6970 who has a brick wall at 940 mhz

And the other card has the brick wall att 1200 mhz

And u aim to OC 1 ghz

    Is there not a prob?

    Maybe i am wrong..

And there are other factors as well, from a HW point of view.. different brands of ram, cooling, power phases.

U cant race with a card that is 90c, and the other 65c. They perform different..

And some cards, even if same model (but different vendor), works or do not work in different progs..

69 series XFX likes TriXX, not afterburner, 69 series MSI likes afterburner, and not trixx, and so on..

Is it not worth the trouble, to get 2 identical cards...

These, and some other things, make the card perform/behave different..

If u are going to buy 2 xtra stick of ram for your mobo, do u use different vendors?, even if the cas/voltage is the same? ahh Ripjaws and Dominators, looking cool togheter...... ;o)

I know this discussion is around Geforce, i just made some examples..

and if that's not enough, some motherboards, work not all the same, with the model of the gpu.....

Okay... well how about will it work with P5N-D if I install a EVGA 560Ti I know the P5N-D MOBO is old so I wouldn't know if it's compatible to EVGA 560 Ti...!?

And umm... I was thinking of doing a SLI bridge 2 way with EVGA 560 Ti and Asus GTX 560 Ti 448 cuda limited edition but I noticed it's not in stock in some sites so I was thinking also of going for Asus GTX 570 Ti... It's strange I see no difference specs for GTX 560 Ti limited edition... So I'm guessing that the limited edition was in high demand they made a GTX 570 Ti version?

Well the specifications of EVGA and ASUS GTX 560 Ti looks the same specs... but okay I didn't think there would have problems with different vendors cos I figured GPU's mainly display the graphic interface to a display which is a LCD... So I figured that if I used a one LCD with Asus GTX 560 Ti and another LCD with EVGA 560 Ti it would only isolate the performance of GPU to the LCD that's connected to the GPU would it not...?! I guess I'm thinking logically... you connect this and get this... LOL

I know it wouldn't affect the media like a game but it would only affect the image that's displayed on the LCD... Well this is a example I had in mind when I was inquiring about a 2-way SLI bridge...
