    I'm not sure I'm impressed. The ICC profile provided actually gave things a slightly reddish tinge for me and the overall picture seems too dark for a lit room. I don't normally play in the dark because it's harder on the eyes. I like the user mode color adjustment for the monitor itself though. I think I'll try gaming and tinker with the brightness/contrast to get it the way I want.

    OK, so I tried using the color and gamma settings listed and upped the brightness to 20, contrast to 60, no ICC. Much happier with the results. I guess I just don't like a balanced picture or something.

    your right, after a good deal of testing I found the icc profile to be weird and colors dull.

    I have used the settings below and find them much better the joys of settings eh lol

    PCM's settings:
    Picture Mode= Standard
    Brightness= 36 (adjust according to preferences and lighting)
    Contrast= 50
    Gamma Mode= Gamma 4
    Red= 96
    Green= 97
    Blue= 100

    Nvidia Control Panel:
    Digital Vibrance 60%
    ALSO trying bringing the brightness on Nvidia down to 40% from 50% works a treat for a sweet colour !

    just to clarify, are you using these base settings above, or the ones on tftcentral?

    Gamma 1 and the RGB settings listed on the website you linked. I haven't changed anything in the Nvidia control panel.

    I'll buy this monitor in the next week, can you guys tell me, which the best calibration settings please?
    Because as I read the Benq with the default settings is very bright, especially for viewing photos...
    This LCD is only good for games? Or is it a good bet for movies pictures and other things?

    you guys already have the Benq XL2420T, for some time, have already discovered the optimal settings?
    That you can share with me?

    I am in doubt if I buy the Benq XL2420T or Asus VE278Q...
    what do you guys think is the best shot?

    Sorry for the delay. The VE278Q is a quite different monitor. Both are going to have a good picture but the ASUS is larger and 60 instead of 120Hz. That means it won't do 3DVision either. Now, that's not a problem for many people who are just looking for a big beautiful picture but many people want the faster refresh or the option for 3D. If you're not interested in 120 or 3D then I'd go with the ASUS as those are the main reasons that BenQ costs more.

    As for the optimal settings, well I didn't like the original setup RonanC described but supposedly that is most technically accurate. I would use the RGB Red= 96 Green= 97 Blue= 100 and adjust the brightness to your own comfort level.

    Ben-Q XL2420T

    Hi all, my first time on this forum....looking forward to gleaning some good info from the posts. I've had this monitor since early November/12 and am very pleased with its performance. I'm still adjusting the settings and creating profiles for the changing light conditions and games. All in all, some of the best money I've laid out for desktop hardware.
